On November 9, 2004, the West Glens Falls Fire Dept dedicated it's new Fire Prevention Safety Trailer to 49 year member and past West Glens Falls Fire Chief Bob Havens. A speech was read by Chief John Carpenter and a plaque honoring Bob was presented to him with a duplicate plaque being permanently placed inside the trailer. Besides members of the West Glens Falls Fire Dept, members from several area fire departments were on hand to witness Assemblywoman - Elect Teresa Sayward present Bob with a proclamation from the New York State Assembly. Also present was Bob McKinney representing FASNY (Firemans Association of the State of NY) who presented Bob with a certificate honoring his 49 years of service. A Friendship Plaque was presented to him by long time friend and past West Glens Falls Fire Chief Bob Wescott. A ribbon cutting ceremony officially opened the trailer and refreshments and demonstrations followed.
